Who is the strongest person?
Some say the ministers who have power to control the nation,
Or consumers who rule the market.
Some believe the rich who have power of money,
Or the leaders like Mandela who lead the world.
Yes these all are strong,
But not the strongest.
Because strongest is that mother,
Who faced hunger so that her son could have proper meals,
Who suffered pain to let him cherish joy,
Who did all sacrifices for his love,
Yet sent him away in army.
Because strongest is that wife,
Who lives in new place without her husband,
Who plays both roles of parents for her kids in his absence,
Who every night sleeps alone with just memories,
Who supports herself in all situations,
Yet she still smiles goodbye as her husband goes to protect the country.
Because strongest is that daughter and son,
Who fulfill their duty with responsibility,
Who doesn’t have their father all time to take them for trips they want,
Who never let their tears reach their mother,
Who never complain about being alone,
And yet say to their dad ” We are proud of you” when he goes away to fight.
Because strongest is that sister,
Whose brother isn’t there to protect her,
Who doesn’t get to chance to have moments of fun with him,
Who doesn’t tie Rakhi every year,
Who doesn’t have the elderly roof on her,
And yet she awaits as his brother’s next arrival from army.
Because these all are strongest persons,
Who have sleepless nights due to worry,
So that we can sleep soundly in our homes.
Who live alone everyday,
So that we can enjoy with our families.
Who live days without being in contact,
So that we all can know about each other.
Who hardly go for vacations,
So that we can have enjoyable holidays.
Who live disturbed in worry,
So we can love peacefully.
Salute to these unsung heroes,
Who let all their peace, happiness at stake,
For the good of humanity,
For good of mankind.
Salute to these fighters,
Who are ready to loose their lives ones,
For our safety,
For our security.
Salute to these heroes,
These strong fighters,
Who are responsible for our peace and humanitarian life.
